Klostertal Cycle Path
Have you ever tried the Klostertal Cycle Route? We recommend this fantastic route through woodland and meadows from Bludenz to Klösterle and back. The cycle route follows the River Alfenz, past Stallehr and the villages of Außer- and Innerbraz. At Dalaas, you’ll briefly join the village road, but don’t worry – thanks to the Arlberg Expressway, there’s very little traffic. At the end of the village, the route continues along a narrow gravel track, past the valley station of the Sonnenkopfbahn and through Innerwald to Klösterle am Arlberg. Along the route there are plenty of great spots to stop and take in the sights, such as waterfalls, museums and inns. Give it a go and discover the idyllic Klostertal in all its beauty!
Galzigtrail: for the ambitious
This challenging shared trail for mountain bike enthusiasts, running down the eastern slope to St. Anton am Arlberg, guarantees spectacular views of the Stanzertal valley and the surrounding mountains. You’ll ride over gravel, forest tracks and tarmac, reaching your destination at the St. Anton Museum. You can also conveniently transport your bike at the start using the Galzigbahn cable car. From the starting point, the Galzigbahn mountain station, follow the trail signposts down the eastern slope. The route then takes you down a slightly steeper section via the so-called ‘shared trail’ towards Dengert. From the hamlet of Dengert, the route continues along Dengertstraße and Alte Arlbergstraße to the finish at the Galzigbahn valley station. A real challenge, even for fit cyclists!
For families: the Stanzertal Cycle Path
Have you heard of the Stanzertal Cycle Route? The route is simply beautiful and runs along the Rosanna from St. Anton am Arlberg to Schnann. Best of all: the cycle path is tarmac-surfaced throughout, making it perfect for families with young children.
From the Arlberg Well Com, the route takes you via the Kunstmeile to the Nassereinbahn valley station. From there, the route heads south to the start of the Stanzertal Cycle Path and follows the Rosanna river to Flirsch. The return journey is the same, giving you another chance to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Insider tip: Heilbronner Hütte
The Heilbronner Hütte is a real insider’s tip for all mountain bikers and e-bike enthusiasts. The 20 kilometres and 1,600 metres of elevation gain on tarmac or gravel tracks should not be underestimated, but the view of the Verwall Valley and the surrounding mountains is simply magnificent. It’s particularly lovely if you combine the tour with a detour into the Paznaun Valley, Stanzertal or Montafon. The Verwall Trail route from the Schönverwallalm to the Heilbronner Hütte demands everything from cyclists, as both the ascent and descent are rated S3 in difficulty. The ideal choice for anyone looking for a challenge.
