A ‘Firmen Radl’ is a company bike. Employees receive it through their employer and ride it as if it were their own: naturally, for the journey to and from work. But they can also use it in everyday life, in their free time, or as a piece of exercise equipment. A COMPANY BIKE can be any type of bicycle or e-bike and from any manufacturer. It keeps you healthy, is emission-free, practical and fun. What’s more, thanks to favourable tax treatment, it is significantly cheaper than a bike you buy yourself. An additional insurance package also offers comprehensive cover.
The FIRMENRADL scheme enables employees to purchase bicycles or e-bikes through their employer and pay for them via payroll deductions. Each month, a portion of their gross salary is deducted, thereby generating a tax benefit through salary conversion.
Under the tax reform of 1 January 2020, the tax benefit previously available for electric cars was extended to electric bicycles. As a result, company bicycles and company e-bikes are eligible for input VAT deduction, and their private use is also exempt from the benefit-in-kind tax. The exact amount you save depends on various factors: your salary, the price of the bike and the term (24, 36 or 48 months). Want to know how much you can save? You’ll find our discount calculator on FIRMENRADL.at.
You enter into a framework agreement with a leasing partner (e.g. Firmenradl and Bikeleasing) and set the price range within which your staff can choose their bikes. You can also offer additional benefits such as insurance or servicing for the Firmenradl scheme.
You position yourself as an attractive employer by proactively promoting the Jobrad scheme to your staff and highlighting it as a benefit as early as the application process.
Your employees choose their preferred bike from Home of Bike.
Home of Bike handles the arrangements with the leasing partners, so all you need to do is confirm your employees’ eligibility.
When the bike is collected, you’ll be informed of the monthly instalment, which you’ll need to factor into your payroll calculations.
